- Enter your federal adjusted gross income from your federal tax return (Form 1040) in line 1. Make sure to round it to the nearest dollar.
- Continue with line 2 by entering the amount from Schedule 1, line 7, and attach Schedule 1 to your submission.
- Add lines 1 and 2 together and fill in the result on line 3.
- Complete Schedule 2 to determine your Indiana deductions, entering that amount on line 4.
- Subtract the amount on line 4 from line 3 and write the result on line 5.
- Follow up with line 6 by completing Schedule 3 and entering the Indiana exemptions amount.
- Complete the tax calculations by multiplying the adjusted gross income from line 7 by 3.05% and entering that amount on line 8.
- Fill in the county tax due from Schedule CT-40 in line 9.
- Add any other taxes from Schedule 4, line 4, to line 10.
- Sum lines 8, 9, and 10 and enter the total on line 11.
- Claim credits from Schedule 5, line 13, and write that amount on line 12.
- Enter any offset credits from Schedule 6, line 8 on line 13.
- Sum lines 12 and 13 to find the total credits on line 14.
