- In line 4, enter contributions made to your Archer MSAs for 2024 from Form 8853, if applicable, including any contribution amounts related to your spouse.
- Subtract line 4 from line 3 and enter the result in line 5. If zero or less, enter -0-.
- For line 6, if applicable, enter your additional contribution amount if you are age 55 or older at the end of 2024 and had family coverage.
- Add lines 6 and 7 and enter the result in line 8. Then report the total employer contributions for 2024 in line 9.
- Enter any qualified HSA funding distributions in line 10 and combine lines 9 and 10 in line 11.
- Subtract line 11 from line 8 and enter the resulting amount in line 12 as your HSA deduction.
- Proceed to Part II to report HSA Distributions. If both you and your partner have separate HSAs, complete a separate Part II for each.
- Enter total distributions in line 14a, rolling over amounts in line 14b, and subtract these results in line 14c.
- Enter qualified medical expenses paid using HSA distributions in line 15, and then calculate taxable HSA distributions in line 16.
- If any of the distributions meet exceptions to the Additional 20% Tax, check the box in line 17a.
- Finally, for Part III, report any income and additional tax for failure to maintain HDHP coverage, completing additional calculations and checking appropriate boxes.
