The claim must be sufficient in order to be accepted and examined by TSA.

The short answer is “there is no limit to how much cash you can bring to the airport for a domestic or intentional flight. However, you must declare on the FinCEN105 form that you are bringing more than $10,000 on an international flight (which includes all money being carried by anyone in your family or group).

The Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) governs the way your claim is processed and establishes your rights in regard to your claim. If your claim is denied or has not been resolved within six months of the date it was properly presented to TSA, you may file suit in an appropriate U.S. District Court.

You may file a claim if you are injured or your property is lost or damaged during the screening process. Screening at certain airports is performed by private companies and not TSA.
