Can I take the exam multiple times? Yes, however, before you can retest, you must wait for a period of one month (30 calendar days) before taking the exam again. This applies even if the exam is taken through a different department/agency than the original exam.

Examination parts do not have to be taken on the same day or on consecutive days. You may take each part up to four times during the test window. The current test window is May 1, 2024 to Feb. 28, 2025. Testing is unavailable during the months of March and April while the examination is being updated.

National Testing Network (NTN) Law Enforcement Exam: You must score 65% on the video portion, 70% on the reading, and 70% on the writing. Post Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB): You must obtain a T-Score of 51 or higher.

Your written scores are good for one year after your test date. After one year, they will retire and not be visible to you or your department choices. Your scores must be active when a department job closes for you to be eligible for the job.

While all NTN tests are meant to be challenging, some cause more trouble to candidates than others. For example, NTN exams that incorporate traditional reading comprehension and two versions of video-based scenario tests are notoriously hard to pass.

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) allows National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) test-takers up to eight retakes per year with a forty-five-day wait period between each test.

If you fail the NTN written exam, you can re-take 90 days from your last attempt. If you pass the NTN written exam, the Personnel Department will invite you to submit your Personal History Statement.

After a No Show, you may sign up again and schedule a new test; however, you must pay the testing fee and add your departments again.
