The WHY: Logic Model Purpose and Practical Application The purpose of a Logic Model is to provide stakeholders with a road map describing the sequence of related events connecting the need for the planned program with the program's desired results.

The logic model captures the information needed to monitor and evaluate the policy process and, ultimately, the success of policy implementation. The policy development and implementation process will feed into the logic model's process and output indicators.

A logic model has the following components: Inputs: Resources dedicated to or used by your program. Examples include: funding, staff and staff time, volunteer and volunteer time, facilities, supplies, and equipment.
