Location agreement. 1.1 The Owner agrees and confirms to the Company that they have the right and authority to grant all necessary permissions and consents in and to the Location without having to obtain any further third party consents.

A location agreement is a document that gives permission to enter private property for the purpose of recording content, whether you are filming, taking photographs, or making any other recordings.

Once a location meets the general requirements for a scene, a location manager or scout will be responsible for obtaining all the necessary permits and permission from the property owner to film at the said location(s).

A location agreement is a contract between a film production company and a property owner outlining that not only can the property be used for filming, but any other requirements concerning using the property are included.

Both the producer and the property owner must sign the location release form at the end of the form. Next to the owner's signature and printed name, be sure to include the address of the location once again. Both signatures should include the date of the signature.

Location Managers negotiate location agreements, obtain necessary permits, secure police and fire personnel as needed and oversee all logistical aspects of the shoot while at the location. Since their job is to stay at least one step ahead of the production, they may not be present on the actual day of filming.
