- For Line 8, compute the percentage of your income taxed by dividing Line 7 by Line 1 and inputting the result. Ensure that if the percentage exceeds 100, you enter 100.
- In Line 9, multiply the amount from Line 2 by the percentage calculated in Line 8. This provides the maximum credit available.
- On Line 10, enter the actual income tax you paid to another state or political subdivision. Ensure this amount reflects any applicable reductions from credits, excluding withholding and estimated tax.
- For Line 11, determine the smaller amount between the results from Line 9 and Line 10. This amount represents your Missouri resident credit and should be recorded on Form MO-1040, Lines 29Y and 29S.
