How to fill out the Multiple Position Adjustment Form Instructions - Montana State online
Filling out the Multiple Position Adjustment Form is a crucial step in managing position budgets effectively at Montana State. This guide provides clear instructions to assist users in completing the form online, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Follow the steps to successfully complete the form
- Click the ‘Get Form’ button to access the Multiple Position Adjustment Form, allowing you to open it in the appropriate editor.
- Navigate to the form NBAPBUD in Banner. Input the current fiscal year and position number, then execute a Next Block or Ctrl Page Down to retrieve the Position Budget information. Gather the required details for columns A-D from the Salary Budgets tab.
- For columns F-I, switch to the Labor Distributions tab and enter the current information that corresponds to the position.
- Input the new full-time equivalent (FTE) and new total position budget in columns K-L based on the applicable Salary Projection worksheet.
- Columns N-O will auto-populate, reflecting the difference between the current and new (proposed) FTE and budget. Verify these amounts are correctly displayed.
- In columns Q-T, provide the new labor distribution details, ensuring that the total amount matches the new budget from column L and that the total distribution percentage equals 100%.
- Column V will show the total difference from column O. If this amount is negative, identify resources within your budget to make up this shortfall. If positive, recognize it needs to be reallocated within your budget.
- To adjust additional positions, return to Section 1 and repeat steps 1 through 6.
- If a balance remains in the Total Difference column (V) at the conclusion of Section 1, it will carry over into Section 2. Enter the index and account code(s) for any base adjustments. Negative amounts in column S indicate budget removal from operations, while positive amounts indicate budget allocation to operations. The aim is to achieve zero in the Total Difference in column V by the end of Section 2.
- For adjustments between different fund types, ensure that balances equal zero within each fund type, following the stipulations outlined for restricted and unrestricted funds.
- After completing the form, review all entered information carefully to ensure accuracy. You may then proceed to save changes, download, print, or share the form as needed.
