- Select the Messages link to reach the relevant section.
- Click the Add a New Value tab to start adding a new message.
- Click inside the Message Code field where you will enter your new message code.
- In the Message Code field, provide a name for your message code, such as 'NEWP01'.
- Click the Add button to save the message code.
- On the Messages page, define the parameters for the new message.
- The Message Type field will categorize your message. Select from options like Credit Related Message or Internal Warning Message. Click the Message Type list to view choices.
- Select Product Related Message from the list.
- Click in the Description field to specify the brief message content.
- Enter a description in the Description field, for example, 'New Product'.
- Click in the Long Description field to elaborate on your message.
- Provide a detailed description in the Long Description field, such as 'New lifelong battery being introduced in Q1.'.
- Decide how the message will be applied. The available actions are None, Reject, Hold, and Pass To.
- The None option indicates that the message is for informational purposes only.
- Choose the Reject option if you want to prevent a customer or product from being included in orders.
- Select the Hold option if you wish to put a sales order or order line on hold regarding the associated message.
- Utilize the Pass To options to route the message to the appropriate PeopleSoft application.
- Click the Save button to store your newly created message.
- Congratulations! You have successfully created a new message.
