Directorate of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) is the central nodal agency for prevention and control of six vector borne diseases (VBDs) i.e. Malaria, Dengue, Lymphatic Filariasis, Kala-azar, Japanese Encephalitis and Chikungunya in India.

The President's Malaria Initiative (PMI) is a U.S. government initiative designed to cut malaria deaths in half in target countries in sub-Saharan Africa. CDC and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) jointly implement the initiative, which is led by USAID.

We support efforts to: Reduce the burden of malaria by expanding the use of effective existing tools, including preventive medication and case management, and improving disease surveillance and data for decision-making high-burden settings.

PMI's strategy aims to greatly reduce malaria deaths and cases in countries that account for almost 90 percent of the world's malaria burden — contributing to the global goals of saving more than 4 million lives and averting over 1 billion cases by 2025.

More than 6 million lives have been saved , and a vast majority of them have been young African children. We have helped loosen malaria's grip -- even in areas where it was tightest.

Global Malaria Programme. The WHO Global Malaria Programme (GMP) is responsible for coordinating WHO's global efforts to control and eliminate malaria. Its work is guided by the "Global technical strategy for malaria 2016–2030" adopted by the World Health Assembly in May 2015 and updated in 2021.

The PMI Uganda Malaria Reduction Activity (MRA) aims to strengthen the capacity of malaria prevention and ownership of health at the community and household levels while maintaining gains made at the health facility level in the five highest-burden regions of Uganda: Acholi, Busoga, Karamoja, Lango, and West Nile.
