Open Public Records Act (OPRA) OPRA is a state law that was enacted to give the public greater access to government records maintained by public agencies in New Jersey. Government records available from Legislative offices are primarily Legislative records.

State Law requires that in order to request access to government records, you must complete, sign and date a written request for access and deliver it in person or by mail during regular business hours to the appropriate custodian of the record requested.

You do not have to use a form, but the request must be in writing and specifically mention OPRA. The request can be hand-delivered, mailed, transmitted electronically, or otherwise conveyed to the appropriate records custodian.

To obtain public records, please print out the attached OPRA (Open Public Records Act) Request Form. Upon completing the form, please email it to Nicholas Magarelli at nmagarelli@fairlawn.org or bring it to the Municipal Clerk's Office in Borough Hall. Your response will be received within 7 business days.
