Obtaining a Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit File FCC Forms 159 and 605 electronically in the Universal Licensing System (ULS) with the FCC. You do not need to take a test to obtain this permit. The FCC will send the permit to you via Electronic Authorizations and it will be valid for your lifetime.

The following licenses are valid for a 5 year term: Third Class Radiotelegraph Operator's Certificate. Second Class Radiotelegraph Operator's Certificate. First Class Radiotelegraph Operator's Certificate.

A license that has expired and gone beyond the two-year grace period will be canceled in the FCC system. The FCC does not reinstate or renew the expired license and the licensee will not automatically qualify for a new license.

<Transfer of Control To apply for transfer of control, the licensee must use this form, FCC Form 603. The licensee must also complete and attach an FCC Wireless Telecommunications Bureau Ownership Form, FCC Form 602, with exhibits describing how the ownership structure would be changed by the transfer of control.

Expiration Date � The date after which an FCC�granted license ceases to be valid. For example, a license with a 12/1/98 expiration is no longer valid at 12:00am 12/2/98. In most cases, wireless licenses have a 10�year term, and the expiration date is the 10�year anniversary date of the original license grant date.

If your license expires, you may apply for renewal of the license for another term during a two-year filing grace period. The application document must be received by the FCC on or before the end of the grace period.
