In California, employees who otherwise meet the definition of a supervisor must earn twice minimum wage in order to be exempt from overtime. For example, if an employee is called a supervisor, works a ten hour day, but only earns $12.00 an hour the employee must be paid overtime.

FLSA Overtime: Covered nonexempt employees must receive overtime pay for hours worked over 40 per workweek (any fixed and regularly recurring period of 168 hours – seven consecutive 24-hour periods) at a rate not less than one and one-half times the regular rate of pay.
