Although insurance companies in Nevada won't insure a car with a current salvage title, you can get coverage if you have the vehicle repaired and inspected by a state-certified mechanic. If it's declared safe to drive, the DMV will issue the car a rebuilt title.

A salvage vehicle may not be registered or operated on any public street until it has been rebuilt and inspected. Once a salvage vehicle has been repaired, it becomes a rebuilt vehicle and may be registered and/or sold if the proper procedures below have been followed.

State law prohibits a Non-Repairable Vehicle from being rebuilt, reconstructed, or restored for operating on the highways of Nevada. NOTE: Please include a check or money order for the $10.00 Salvage Title fee.

If you want to get a rebuilt title in Nevada, you'll first need to obtain a salvage title, have the vehicle repaired and inspected by a licensed body shop or garage, complete all the required forms and pass a final DMV inspection.

It may be sold, but only after the new title is issued. From now on the vehicle's title will be “branded” in the state of Nevada. This means it will state that the vehicle has been rebuilt. This branding may not be altered in any way.
