First, you should know that you have no right to buy out your community service, you've got to do the work if that's what your sentence requires. But, you can buy out your community service hourse with permission from the judge.

General guidelines for community service are: A total of 100 hours must be completed and approved by April 1st of your graduating year (you may earn more than 25 hours per year to reach your total) It is encouraged to turn in documented hours as soon as they are completed.

Community Service is considered: A release condition that requires people on supervision to perform unpaid work for a civic or nonprofit organization, such as a public library, a soup kitchen, or a conservation program.

Many offenders are required by the Court to perform community service as a condition of supervision. This allows offenders to "give back" to the community and model prosocial behavior. These hours must be worked at non-profit agencies approved by Collin County CSCD.

Once sent to TJJD, youth can remain in custody until their 19th birthday, which is when Texas law mandates they be released from the juvenile system.
