T Plan Member Part I: Background/Purpose of Form Beginning July 1, 2009, participants in the New Mexico Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP) who have contributed to the ARP for seven (7) years or more are eligible to make a one-time irrevocable election to become a regular member of the qualified Defined Benefit Plan governed by the New Mexico Educational Retirement Act (ERA).
