Our Law Enforcement Program can bring you closer to a brighter future by preparing you to take the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) peace officer license examination. The Full-Time Police Academy is a 22-week program and the Part-Time Academy is completed in two semesters and a 12-week minimester.

REQUIREMENTS Apply for the Police Recruit Position. Complete an interview with the Director of Public Safety or designee. Complete MCOLES reading and writing / pre-enrollment physical fitness test. Be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation. Pass a drug screen and psychological evaluation.

Candidates who have made it this far will have a personal interview with the Chief of Police. The next step is taking a polygraph, and undergoing a medical examination, including a blood and drug screening, vision and audiology testing and x-rays, as well as a psychological assessment.
