The Radiologic programs are highly competitive. On average, students accepted to the program have a 3.5 overall GPA and earned a 'A' or 'A-' in their anatomy and physiology courses.

Radiation therapy may require more specialized knowledge and skills than nursing, but nursing can also be a challenging field that requires a great deal of knowledge and skill. Ultimately, the level of difficulty for each profession will depend on the individual's experience and background.

Generally speaking, nursing school may be considered more difficult than radiology technician school as nursing students need to complete more hours of clinical experience and have a deeper understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.

As for the math involved, there isn't anything greater than basic algebra for basic radiography. If you move into more advanced fields like CT, MRI, or Sono, there are advanced math equations you have to understand, but not not that you have to use all the time if that makes sense.

It's important to note that while stress can be a part of the job, many Radiologic Technologists find their work fulfilling and rewarding. They play a vital role in patient care, contribute to accurate diagnoses, and have opportunities for career advancement and specialization.

Earning an associate degree in radiology requires completing a two-year program with courses about radiation therapy, radiation safety and clinical education. Some roles you can pursue in the radiology field include sonographer, X-ray technician and nuclear medicine technologist.

Regardless of what program you decide to go to, one thing remains the same: X-RAY SCHOOL IS HARD! Ok, there will always be those who breeze through school, but for the rest of us, becoming an x-ray tech will most likely be the hardest thing you will ever do.

Level of Responsibility: While both radiology technicians and registered nurses have important roles in patient care, registered nurses tend to have more responsibility and autonomy. They are often the primary point of contact for patients and are responsible for coordinating their care.
