Entry to the United States Olympic trials is open to any U.S. Citizen who has achieved the "A" standard, and based on superior performance, sufficient "B" standard athletes to fill out the field.

June 15-23, 2024 Indianapolis will host the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming in June 2024. For the first time ever, the event will be staged on a football field, as Lucas Oil Stadium is tapped to host the nine-day Olympic-qualifying meet in front of hundreds of thousands of families, friends and fans.

Swimmers must compete in a series of national and international events, including the Olympic Trials. The Olympic Trials are a series of events that are held in most countries to determine which swimmers will represent their nation in the Olympics.

Some sports have Olympic trials and some even have tried-and-true tryouts. But being on a national team, while not a guaranteed way to get into the Olympics, is a pretty darn good step.

You must be a 2021 USATF member to enter the Olympic Trials. If you do not have a 2021 membership, please complete a membership application first before attempting to enter the trials. You must also be a U.S. citizen and meet the eligibility requirements and qualifying standards.

Competing and being part of the Games Taking part in the Olympic Games is every athlete's dream, and requires huge amounts of determination and long years of training. Athletes must first comply with the Olympic Charter and follow the rules of the International Federation (IF) governing their sport.

Games Qualification and Selection National Olympic Committees – such as the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee in the United States – earn national quota spots to compete at each of these international, multi-sport events, which are then allocated to individual athletes and teams.
