A “general release” is a document in which one person releases another from any claims or threats of lawsuits. Franchisors often require franchisees to sign general releases at various points in the relationship to insulate themselves from franchisee lawsuits.

Release Form means a release agreement to be signed by an eligible employee, releasing any and all claims against the employer.

What Does General Release Agreement Mean? This legally binding document waives the right of the person signing it to make any claims against another party. In an employment sense, an employee would waive their right to take legal action for any claims related to separation or termination of employment.
