To amend your Form ADV, you must take the following steps: Log onto IARD and in the Forms section choose ADV New Filing. Select the filing type: Submit an Other-than-Annual Amendment. You can now begin to enter the appropriate information on the Form ADV.

Form ADV contains four parts: Part 1A asks a number of questions about you, your business practices, the persons who own and control you, and the persons who provide investment advice on your behalf. o All advisers registering with the SEC or any of the state securities authorities must complete Part 1A.

The first part contains basic facts about the firm, like its fees, client types, assets under management and any disclosures. The second part is more of a narrative about the firm that explains its services, investing approach and any conflicts of interest. Registered advisors must update their Form ADV annually.

4. When am I required to update my Form ADV? SEC- and State-Registered Advisers: o Annual updating amendments: You must amend your Form ADV each year by filing an annual updating amendment within 90 days after the end of your fiscal year.

A material change includes most items disclosed on the Form ADV Part 2A, such as the registered investment advisor firm's services, investment advisory fee arrangements, relationships with related persons and outside entities, changes to advisory personnel, and changes to the organization.
