The IRS does not have a red form for Form W-2G. Copy A of both forms are printed on plain black paper. 1099 recipients should be printed on blank, perforated paper.

1. Sign up for a free business account with the Social Security Administration on their website socialsecurity.gov. As a small business, this service allows you to generate and print up to 20 W-2 forms at no charge.

You must register to use Business Services Online – Social Security's suite of services that allows you to file W-2/W-2Cs online and verify your employees' names and Social Security numbers against our records.

Review your paper Forms W-2, especially Copy A, to ensure that they print accurately prior to mailing them to Social Security's Wilkes-Barre Direct Operations Center. Social Security accepts laser printed Forms W-2/W-3 as well as the standard red drop-out ink forms.
