Age 65 with five years of service credit, or. At least age 55 but less than age 62, have at least 20 years of service credit, and meet the Rule of 80 (combined age and years of service credit total at least 80), or. Eligibility for Retirement: You must have 60 service credits (5 years), AND must be at least age 60 or over. If you have at least 240 service credits (20 years), you are eligible to retire at any age.

Contact TTU HR to sign up for retire insurance, if eligible. Normal Age Service Retirement: Meeting the “Rule of 80”, your age plus your years of TRS participation equal 80; OR you are 65 with 10 years of service. TRS retirees can receive an unreduced annuity at age 65 with a minimum of 5 years of service.

At least age 65 with 10 years of creditable state service with TRS, ORP, or ERS or age plus years of creditable state service equals 80. At least 10 years of service credit with a UT System institution.

A: “The Employee Tuition Assistance Program waives tuition and mandatory fees for three semester credit hours of a permitted course taken by an eligible employee during any fall, spring, or summer term. Summer term includes all parts of term occurring between May and August.

To be eligible for normal-age service retirement, you must meet one of the following conditions: you are age 65 with at least five years of service credit, or • you meet the Rule of 80 (your age and years of service credit total at least 80) and you have at least five years of service credit.

Unlike ERS service credit, which is based on months, TRS service credit is based on years. At least 90 working days in one fiscal year counts as one year of TRS service credit. When it transfers to ERS, it's counted as 12 months.
