Special Use Permits are required for any events or activities beyond normal park activities. Such activities needing a permit would include any commercial activity, athletic events, music events, bouncy houses, large groups, filming, motocross racing events, etc.

It is LEGAL to carry a firearm in any state park, state wildlife management area (WMA), state & national wildlife areas and refuges, national forests, and national parks.

The possession and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages (this includes alcohol poured into a different container) is prohibited in all day use areas. Alcohol is only allowed in your overnight camp site and you may also consume alcohol from a vessel.

Smoking, chewing tobacco, vaping, alcohol, and non-prescription drugs are not permitted inside any building on our grounds or under the pavilion.

Law Enforcement Park Rangers have one of the best jobs around. There are very few jobs where you can start your day off by watching the sunrise against red rocks; spend the afternoon patrolling trails on an off-highway vehicle; and end your shift aboard a boat conducting life jacket safety checks.

Multiple state parks are open to hunting. However, parks vary on types of game that can be taken. All hunting within state parks must comply with Utah law, federal law, DWR rules, and all county and city ordinances regulating hunting, weapons and shooting.
