  8. At least one week prior to your Final Exam, obtain explicit written approval from all members of your supervisory committee confirming their attendance on the proposed date. A quorum of four is required, which must include your chair and GSR.
  9. Submit the Request for Final Exam online and follow up by emailing Sam to confirm your submission. Include the date, time, and location of your exam, along with the title of your defense seminar.
  10. Once the Student Services Coordinator receives confirmation of your supervisory committee's approval, they will approve your request online. A system-generated email will be sent to you and your committee members.
  11. Review the Graduate School dissertation submission policies carefully before formatting and submitting your final thesis document. Make sure to adhere to the formatting guidelines as prescribed.
  12. Submit the final dissertation to the Graduate School within 60 days of your Final Exam or by the end of your graduation quarter—whichever comes first. Additionally, provide one unbound hardcopy to Sam and consider submitting a PDF version online as well.
  13. At least four weeks prior to your Final Exam, complete and sign the dissertation draft confirmation form and present it to the Student Services Coordinator for initialing and copious keeping.
