Configuration is considered "C.I.P." Typically, a "C.I.P." system would include a solution reservoir, a supply pump, and a return circuit In the case of a tank or other similar vessel, a spray device and some type of return pump may also be included. Cleaning solution that is put through a spray device to wash a vessel and then directly to drain or to a pipeline that is flushed through directly to drain could not be considered "C.I.P.", as there is no recirculation established. -
CIP cleaning, also referred to as Clean-In-Place cleaning, is a procedure of cleaning interior product contact surfaces such as process pipes, vessels and equipment, without disassembly.
-
Sodium hydroxide (caustic) or chlorinated alkaline cleaners (at pH 10–13) are commonly used in food and beverage manufacturing CIP (cleaning in place) processes to remove proteinaceous soils because of their efficacy in peptizing the bonds that hold proteins together.
-
Cleaning in place (CIP) is a set of activities conducted to properly clean all or part of a process system as it sits in place, without removing or disassembling piping or equipment to accommodate the cleaning. CIP systems distribute. Cleaning solutions. Rinsing solutions.
-
CIP stands for Clean-In-Place and is an automated process that uses a combination of chemicals, heat and water to sanitise equipment. One CIP cycle will usually take between 60 and 90 minutes.
-
All effective CIP systems operate on a combination of four simple principles: Temperature, Chemical Concentration, Mechanical Action, and Time. In theory, these principles are simple, but as anyone who has struggled to get a stubborn stain out of a prized piece of clothing knows, cleaning can be a complicated subject.

If you want to have a good CIP process, then you need to pay attention to the five T's--Temperature, Turbidity, Technology, Time, and Titration. Temperature is important for solubility. Water that is hot can dissolve and absorb more material than cold water.

Clean-in-place (CIP) is an automated method of cleaning the interior surfaces of pipes, vessels, equipment, filters and associated fittings, without major disassembly. CIP is commonly used for equipment such as piping, tanks, and fillers. CIP employs turbulent flow through piping, and/or spray balls for large surfaces.
