Most companion tickets require you to pay the taxes and fees on the second ticket, but save you on the airfare—so your companion's seat isn't quite free. Some companion tickets are only applicable to certain routes and classes of service, or even specific fare codes, like domestic economy flights.

If you don't have a credit card and plan to earn the Companion Pass through flying in 2023, you'll need to earn the full 135,000 points or take 100 qualifying one-way flights. This translates to the following spending on base fares: $22,500 on Wanna Get Away.

Eligibility Be a permanent resident of Australia, residing in Victoria. Demonstrate that they have a significant, permanent disability. Demonstrate that, due to the impact of the disability, they would be unable to participate at most community activities without attendant care support.

The Companion Card is a reloadable prepaid card that can be used to conveniently manage expenses. The card can be used for ATM cash withdrawals, POS transactions at merchant establishments and e-commerce purchases.
