Parma residents may have three garage sales per year for up to three consecutive days at a time, but NOT on Sundays. Permits are $3 and available in the Safety Department at Parma City Hall, 6611 Ridge Road. Parma Heights does not require a permit and allows residents to have garage sales any day of the week.

Garage sales can be held up to three times in a calendar year per dwelling and can operate only between 8 a.m. and sundown for up to three consecutive days. A non-illuminated sign may be placed only on the property where the sale is being held.

You must obtain a permit from the City. Permits can be submitted online using the City's online Garage Sale permit application.

If you'd like to have a garage sale at your home, a permit must first be obtained. This is includes a garage sale, lawn sale, attic sale, rummage sale, porch sale, room sale, basement sale or any similar casual sale of ten (10) or more items of tangible personal property.

No person shall conduct, hold or permit a public sale or garage sale within a residential district of this City without having an unrevoked, valid license from the City for such purpose in effect at the time and issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. No fee shall be charged for the issuance of such license.

A garage sale permit is $5.00 for two (2) signs and/or $7.50 for three (3) signs.
