Use a Certificate of Mailing. Certificate of Mailing service provides a postmarked mailing receipt as evidence that your item was mailed.

Typically, if there is a postmarked, it was mailed on the day of the mark, not the day of receipt. 6/19 is a federal holiday so the mail won't be delivered until 6/20 at the earliest.

Mailed: The letter(s) have been printed, inserted, sealed, and provided to the USPS for delivery. This begins the transit stage of the Certified mail piece. Mailed jobs within your LetterStream account shouldn't be confused with delivered letters. We send your letter(s), the USPS delivers them.

A postmark is a postal marking made on an envelope, parcel, postcard or the like, indicating the place, date and time that the item was delivered into the care of a postal service, or sometimes indicating where and when received or in transit.

Proof of mailing is provided by a USPS Postal clerk when they accept your letters into the mail stream. The date and time scan can be provided in a paper report or can be viewed online from the Internet. A round stamp with the date and time of acceptance is provided when you present your letters to a USPS Postal Clerk.

Postmarks are imprints applied in black ink on the address side of stamped letters, flats, and parcels. A postmark shows the name of the United States Postal Service (USPS) office that accepted custody of the mail, along with the state, the zip code, and the date of mailing.
