Action short of a strike (“ASOS”) encompasses any action which imposes pressure on the employer as a bargaining tool, but which does not amount to a full withdrawal of labour.

Employers can ask their employees if they intend to take part in a strike. Employees do not need to tell their employer they're going on strike in advance. They also do not need to contact them on a strike day.
We are asking members to observe action short of a strike (ASOS) until the end of September. ASOS is meant to be a way to ensure strike action is effective. It also provides opportunities to highlight and prevent overwork/overload particularly after the strike action.
