WHAT ARE GUARDIAN'S REPORTS? Your Guardian's Reports tell the judge how the protected person is doing and how you are performing your guardianship duties. Filing these reports is one of your most important responsibilities as a guardian.

Texas law requires you – as a Guardian of the Person – to file a report each year that covers a 12-month reporting period, with the reporting period beginning on the date you qualify to serve as Guardian.

A Texas annual report is included when a company files their taxes with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. For example, Texas limited liability companies and corporations must include a Public Information Report when submitting their franchise taxes to the state.

To have an existing order reviewed or changed, you would file PG 190, Petition for Review. Anyone including the protected individual can request a review of an existing guardianship or conservatorship. A few examples of changes might include: Concern with a guardian or conservator.

As guardian of the person, you are entitled to compensation for your time, upon court approval. The compensation cannot exceed five percent of the ward's gross income. Attorney fees and other costs can and should be paid out of the ward's income, upon court approval.

The purpose of this report is to tell the court why your service as guardian is ending and what has happened to the protected person and the protected person's assets since you filed your last report.
