Marine Tuition Assistance (TA) is available for all active duty and active reserve Marines. Each member receives $4500 per fiscal year (1 Oct-30 Sep). There is a cap of $250 per semester hour, $166.67 per quarter hour, and $16.67 per clock hour.

Soldiers on active duty are eligible for Tuition Assistance. institution's tuition and fees are $250 or less per semester hour (or equivalent), the Army will pay 100 percent of the amount charged by the institution for up to 16 semester hours of TA funded courses per fiscal year.

The Military Tuition Assistance Program supports Service members pursuing their voluntary, off-duty education goals. MilTA will fund up to $4,500 per year for courses leading to an undergraduate or graduate degree.

(g) Marines using TA must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher after completing 15 semester hours, or equivalent, in undergraduate studies, or a GPA of 3.0 or higher after completing six semester hours, or equivalent, in graduate studies, on a 4.0 grading scale.

Marines who are looking to pay for their education through the POST 9/11 GI Bill will receive 100% tuition assistance after 36 months of active duty. Basic eligibility is established with 90 aggregate days of service, and those Marines participating will receive assistance for tuition, fees, books, and supplies.

Army Tuition Assistance Eligibility Soldiers eligible for TA must have successfully completed one year of service following graduation from Advanced Individual Training (AIT). All soldiers must have ten years of service to receive graduate level TA if any portion of their undergraduate degree was paid through TA.

There is a mandatory requirement to maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 ("C" average) or above for undergraduate, and 3.0 ("B" average) for graduate level. Grades must be reported within 90 days after term end date or the Central TA Office will initiate reimbursement actions for missing grades (from term end date) via CMS.

TA is available for all active duty Marines with at least 24 months of service. Tuition assistance is also available to reservists on continuous active duty, enlisted reservists ordered to active duty 120 days, and to reserve officers ordered to active duty for two years or more.
