3:43 7:23 Types of Angles and Angle Relationships - YouTube YouTube Start of suggested clip End of suggested clip They must be equal the same goes for these alternate exterior angles they must also be equal this isMoreThey must be equal the same goes for these alternate exterior angles they must also be equal this is stated by the alternate interior angles theorem and the alternate exterior angles theorem.

Supplementary angles are those angles that sum up to 180 degrees. For example, angle 130° and angle 50° are supplementary angles because sum of 130° and 50° is equal to 180°. Similarly, complementary angles add up to 90 degrees.

Definition of Supplementary Angles Any two angles that sum up to 180° are called supplementary angles. Observe the following figure which shows two angles 130° and 50° and since they add up to 180°, they are called supplementary angles. In other words, angle 1 and angle 2 are supplementary, if Angle 1 + Angle 2 = 180°.

Types of Angles Obtuse Angle: It lies between 90° to 180° Right Angle: The angle which is exactly equal to 90° Straight Angle: The angle which is exactly equal to 180° Reflex Angle: The angle which is greater than 180 degrees and less than 360 degrees.

If the sum of two angles is 180 degrees then they are said to be supplementary angles, which form a linear angle together. Whereas if the sum of two angles is 90 degrees, then they are said to be complementary angles, and they form a right angle together.

If two angles add up to 90 degrees then they are complementary, if they add up to 180 degrees they they are supplementary.

Alternate interior angles are the angles between the two lines being intersected and on opposite sides of the transversal.

Angles that are on the opposite sides of the transversal are called alternate angles e.g. 1 + 8. All angles that are either exterior angles, interior angles, alternate angles or corresponding angles are all congruent.
