It can take up to six weeks from the date a syllabus is received to the time your Penn State record is updated from a TRN XFRPEN (transfer pending review) to a specific course evaluation.
High school and college transcripts are required to complete a transfer application. Students transferring to University Park must have taken 60 credits (2 years of full-time college coursework) before the time of transfer.
Many students have the opportunity to take college coursework while still in high school. Penn State can typically award credit from regionally accredited institutions as long as an official transcript from the college or university is submitted. Students must receive a C (2.0) or higher in the course.
No college is required to accept transfer credits, unless there is an articulation agreement or state policy in place (explained below). Therefore, it's up to you to do the work to make sure the college you plan to attend will accept your credit.
