The Chancellor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the department as well as responsible of all New York City Public Schools. The Chancellor is also a member of the New York City Panel for Educational Policy (formerly the New York City Board of Education).

Chancellor's Regulation C-30 governs the selection, assignment, and appointment of all principals. It is intended to ensure that the supervisory selection process meets the requirements set by New York State law, is equitable, and is based on principles of merit and readiness.

SUMMARY OF CHANGES This regulation supersedes and replaces C-601 dated 6/17/2021. The regulation sets forth the attendance and service required of pedagogical employees in schools, including procedures in cases of lateness and fractional absence from duty.

Circular 6R is a contractually required professional obligation that provides a menu of professional activities from which a pedagogue may select an assignment. Pedagogical personnel must choose three potential assignments and rank them in order of preference.

No person may work more than 400 hours in one or a combination of per session activities (with a maximum of 400 hours in a school psychologist and/or school social worker position) without prior written approval of the Division of Human Resources in ance with Chancellor's Regulation C-175.

You must receive written approval from the Chancellor, stating that your second job would not conflict with your official DOE duties. Contact the DOE's Ethics Officer to see if the Chancellor will approve your request.

This regulation sets forth the policy and procedures regarding salary, attendance and leaves of non-pedagogical employees in the Management Pay Plan who are not covered by collective bargaining agreements.
