To obtain a Zoning Permit, residents must first complete a Zoning Review Application, available in the Building Department or online. A $35 application fee must be submitted with the Zoning Review Application.

Minimum building permit fee is $65 for residential and $100 for non-residential. Building permits (PDF) issued under the Uniform Dwelling Code are valid for two years from date of issuance. All other building permits expire after one year.

Fee - $50.00 base fee and $0.10 per square foot including porches, decks and all basement areas for residential projects; $250 base fee and $2.00 per $1000.00 of overall cost for commercial/industrial projects. Additional fees may apply. Fees are payable to Dane County Zoning.
