Tattoo Artist Licensure is required for: Persons who practice cosmetic tattooing, permanent make-up, microblading, or micropigmentation. Students/apprentices who tattoo other humans as part of their tattoo training. Tattoo or permanent makeup artist licensed outside of Florida.

All individuals who wish to perform tattooing, including permanent make-up and/or microblading, are required to obtain a tattoo artist permit from the Florida Department of Health prior to performing tattooing and annually.

All Tattoo Establishments require licensure. A person may not operate a Tattoo Establishment in this state without a license. Effective January 1, 2013 any person operating an unlicensed tattoo establishment will be subject to administrative penalties.

Applicant must graduate from an Oregon licensed tattooing career school after completing the following required training: Completion of approved training program including 360 hours of training (210 theory/150 practical), chairside supervision under a licensed tattoo artist.

1) Tattoos on the head or neck, including in or around the mouth area, are prohibited.

Oregon requires a license for tattoo artists. You can obtain a license by graduating from an Oregon licensed tattooing career school, or by reciprocity to show that you currently hold a license as a tattoo artist. A standard Oregon tattoo artist license costs $50.
