In New Hampshire, building permits are issued by you town or city government. In order to get a building permit, you will need to file an application along with any required documents at the town Building Department and pay the applicable permit fee.

A permit is required. By State law a property owner or the property owner's agent may , repair, or replace plumbing in the property owner's own single family home. All work must still comply with applicable plumbing codes. A separate Plumbing Permit can be obtained for plumbing-only project.

The State of New Hampshire issued licensed for Electricians, Plumbers, Gas Technicians and some other Subcontractors. Homeowners should NEVER hire unlicensed contractors. (Note: The State of New Hampshire does not currently require licensing for building contractors.
