To apply to set aside a judgment, a person can file an application with the court in which they were convicted. There is no charge to file an application to set aside a judgment.

§13-907; Rule 29, Arizona Rules of Criminal Procedure) On fulfillment of the conditions of probation or sentence and discharge by the court, you may apply to the court where you were sentenced to have the judgment of guilt set aside. Your attorney or probation officer may apply on your behalf.

13-801 - Fines for felonies. A. A sentence to pay a fine for a felony shall be a sentence to pay an amount fixed by the court not more than one hundred fifty thousand dollars.

If you have been convicted of a criminal offense, upon fulfillment of the conditions of probation or sentence, and discharge by the court, you may apply to the judge who pronounced sentence to have the judgment of guilt set aside.

If the Court grants the application to set aside a conviction, the Court will set aside the judgment of guilt. Then the Court will order the person's release from all penalties and disabilities resulting from the conviction, except: The penalties and disabilities imposed by the department of transportation under A.R.S.

A.R.S. 13-907 states that when a judge grants an application to have a conviction set aside, the offender is released from all penalties that came with the conviction. The conviction will still be available to view on public records, but it will show that your judgment of guilt was set aside.

Arizona does not expunge criminal convictions. Instead, Arizona allows a court to set aside a judgment, where a criminal conviction still exists on a person's record, but the penalties associated with the conviction have been released.

In Arizona, the closest process to expungement is ARS 13-905, which deals with setting aside a conviction. Under ARS 13-905, except for certain disqualified convictions, after you have completed your sentence, then you may file an application with a judge to have your conviction set aside.
