The maximum age to join the Army as an enlisted Soldier is 35, while Officers must accept their commission before age 31. The complete Army basic training cycle is about 10 weeks, divided into three phases: Red, White and Blue, which last about three weeks each.

Under AR 350-1, “soldiers and leaders require law of war training throughout their military careers commensurate with their duties and responsibilities.” The regulation divides LOW training into three levels, A, B, and C. Level A training is conducted during initial military training for all soldiers.

Inactive Duty Training With Pay. A member of a Reserve Component is entitled to compensation at the rate of one-thirtieth of the basic pay prescribed for grade and years of service for the performance of each authorized period of: 1. Regular inactive duty training (drill or unit training assembly (UTA)).
