ALARM SYSTEM PERMIT APPLICATION PERMIT MUST BE ISSUED BEFORE ALARM SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED TO AVOID FEES AND/OR FINES All incomplete/illegible applications and applications received without permit fee will be returned. PERMIT FEES* : $35.00: New permit for residential and nonresidential alarm sites.

Burglar And Panic Alarms Permitting Online: Apply online and submit full electronic payment at .houstonburglaralarmpermits.org. By Mail: Send completed application and full payment to City of Houston - Burglar Alarm Administration, P.O. Box 203887, Houston, Texas 77216-3887.

For any burglar alarm system not currently registered with us, you must complete and submit an Alarm Permit Registration Form, renew annually, and pay the appropriate fee. Renewal fee: $15 if the burglar alarm system had no false burglar alarms requiring police dispatch during the prior registration period.

It is a city ordinance violation to operate an alarm system without a valid permit. The City of San Antonio assess fees for false alarm activations for locations without a valid permit. For each unpermitted residential false alarm there will be a charge of $75.00.

A non-refundable $30.00 registration fee must be paid with each initial registration. A separate registration must be obtained for each alarm user and/or location. Registrations must be renewed on a biennial (2 year) basis at a cost of $10.00.

All alarm businesses must be permitted. There are very serious penalties for failing to secure a permit before selling, installing, monitoring and servicing alarm systems.

Every alarm/monitoring company that conducts business within Montgomery County must be licensed by both the Maryland State Police and the Police False Alarm Reduction Section (FARS) (unless otherwise exempt from the MD State license).

You must have an alarm permit—it's the Law.
