DOD report blasts MHS Genesis rollout, citing inaccurate patient information and safety concerns. A scathing report from the Department of Defense says its MHS Genesis EHR is “neither operationally effective nor operationally suitable,” highlighting concerns that the system's failures jeopardize patient safety.

MHS GENESIS is built on the same Oracle Cerner Millennium platform, which is intended to allow the seamless sharing of patient data and medical records between agencies as current service members become veterans and obtain health care through the Veterans Health Administration.
