Rule 28A provides a mechanism for the parties to file supplemental briefs when the case has been remanded to the trial court with instructions for the trial court to make findings and to make a return to the appellate court.

Rule 28 works a change in the form of briefs as the same has existed before under Alabama practice. Inasmuch as assignments of error are unnecessary, all of the machinery and paraphernalia for arguing briefs ing to assignments of error is also abolished.

Rule 27. Motions. (a) Content of motions; response; reply. An application for an order or other relief shall be made by filing a motion for such order or relief with certificate of service on all other parties, unless another form is elsewhere prescribed by these rules.

In cases involving a single appellant or appellee with multiple opposing parties, the single party must file a single brief in response to multiple opposing parties' briefs. Except by permission of the court, such a brief is restricted to the page and word limits set forth in C.A.R.

Local Rule 28(e). Citation of Additional Authorities. Counsel may, without leave of Court, present a letter drawing the Court's attention to supplemental authorities under Rule 28(j) and serve a copy on all counsel of record.

In a case involving more than one appellant or appellee, including consolidated cases, any number of appellants or appellees may join in a brief, and any party may adopt by reference a part of another's brief. Parties may also join in reply briefs.
