  17. Proceed to Schedule D to list the beneficiary’s information and share of credit, and add appropriate amounts.
  18. On Schedule E, document the amounts from the previous schedules. Fill lines 7, 8, and 9 as instructed.

Credit amount The amount of the credit allowed for each automated external defibrillator purchased (other than for resale) during the tax year is equal to the lesser of: • the cost to the taxpayer of the automated external defibrillator, or • $500.

How much is the credit? The credit is equal to the purchase cost of the unit, or $500, whichever is less. You may claim the credit for any number of units that you or your business purchased during the tax year. However, the credit cannot exceed $500 for each unit.

If you are buying an AED for your personal use, because you or a family member has been diagnosed with heart trouble, and your doctor has recommended one, then it would be an allowable medical expense. Any expense that is deductible is also allowable for HSA reimbursement.

Who is eligible? You are entitled to claim this nonrefundable credit for the tax year if: you were a full-year or part-year resident of New York State, or a New York State-resident estate or trust, or a part-year resident trust; and.

How much is the credit? The amount of the credit is the product of the amount of real property tax which exceeds 6% of the taxpayer's qualified gross income (QGI), and a specified rate based on the taxpayer's QGI. To claim the credit, the computed amount must exceed $250. The maximum credit allowed is $350.
