WD. Stands for “Work-Drop.” It basically means that today the actor is working, then after this day the actor enters a period of more than seven days not working on the production.

Known as a Drop Pick-Up, this is a term that casting professionals and producers use when a production wants to work a day player, drop them for a certain amount of time, and then work them again later without paying for intervening work days.

What does DOOD mean? Short for Day Out of Days, the DOOD report is a chart that marks your actors' “works days.” It's used as an organizational document to keep producers on board with where their money is going.

For example, a cast member's first paid day (usually a rehearsal day) appears as SR; the last paid day (usually a work day) appears as WF. Special consideration must be given to idle periods in the Day Out of Days. A cast member can either be held (paid) or dropped (not paid) during an idle period.

The 'Day Out of Days' are part of every shooting plan. They summarize the days all resources within a production, such as actors, sets, extras, props, and so on will be needed. This allows you to see on which days a resource is or is not needed and gives you an overview of the sum of all their days of use.

A DOOD report contains shorthand to make it easier to track your cast: SW: Stands for “Start Work” and is the actor's first day on-set. W: Stands for “Work” and marks all the days your actors are shooting. WF: Stands for “Work Finish” and denotes an actor's last day on the job.
