There are two online immigrant visa forms: DS-260, Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application. DS-261, Online Choice of Address and agent.

Whether you are a visitor to the United States or a U.S. citizen arriving in the United States, you must complete one or more entry forms. You must complete the CBP Declaration Form 6059B.

The DS-160 fee is $160, which covers the cost to submit your DS-160 F-1 visa application to the US government. This fee is separate from the $350 SEVIS I-901 fee that you pay to the Student and Exchange Visitor Program.

The DS-160 must be completed and submitted online prior to your interview at the U.S. Embassy. The barcode number on the DS-160 confirmation page is required in order to book your interview. The DS-160 form must be submitted online and the printed confirmation page must be brought to the interview.

The completed Form DS-160 application form will generate an alpha-numeric barcode confirmation page. Print this page. The printed confirmation page is required for the interview at the U.S. Embassy.

If you don't see the email within a reasonable time (generally, it comes right away), please check your spam, junk, or bulk mail folder. Without the confirmation page, it may not be possible to access your application and/or process your visa application. You must print the confirmation page only with a laser printer.

How to use the NIV Appointment System: Complete and print a DS-160 electronic visa application form. Click on the "Schedule Appointment" button below to select an available date and time for an appointment.

In order to do so, go into the Consular Electronic Application Center website and select the Embassy or Consulate at which you are applying. Hit “Option C-Retrieve Application” on the Getting Started page and enter your application ID number. From there you will be able to view and print your confirmation page.
