What are the four 4 elements of financial well-being?

Having a good relationship with money and a positive mindset. Having clear plans to achieve your goals. Regaining control of your day-to-day finances. Having the ability to withstand financial shock.

How do I interpret the score? CFPB Financial Well-Being Scale score is a number between 0 and 100. A higher score indicates a higher level of measured financial well-being, but there is not a specific cut-off for a “good” or “bad” financial well-being score.

The scale, which was developed and rigorously tested by The Bureau, contains 10 questions to capture how people feel about their financial security and freedom of choice, plus 2 questions to assist with scoring. Responses to the questions can be converted into an overall financial well-being “score” between 0 and 100.

Financial wellness is a state of financial well-being in which you can manage your bills and expenses, pay your debts, weather unexpected financial emergencies and plan for long-term financial goals such as building college funds and saving for retirement.

– Present Security: Control over day-to-day and month-to-month finances. – Present Freedom of Choice: The freedom to make choices to enjoy life. – Future Security: The capacity to absorb financial shock. – Future Freedom of Choice: The state of being on track to meet financial goals.
