It doesn't matter when you left school. Arizona is offering the computer-based GED exam for the state's high school equivalency testing program. The GED program offers adults who didn't finish high school the chance to earn a credential that's equivalent to a high school diploma.

To earn a high school equivalency diploma in Arizona, the Arizona Department of Education requires you to pass the Arizona Civics Test and the GED Test. The AZ Civics Test is offered only in English. The GED Test is offered in English and Spanish in all United States jurisdictions.

GED TESTING FACILITY Parent/guardian permission must be on file before a student can begin this program. Students 16 and older who successfully pass a pre-GED assessment will be permitted to sign up for the official GED.

Arizona requires students to take the GED in a computer-based format. You can do this at an official GED test center or through an online proctored exam. If you want to take the online exam from home or work, the first step is achieving a passing score on the official GED Ready® practice test.

A MyGED account is required to take the GED test. The MyGED account will allow you to schedule the test and pay for it. There are five subjects tested: Reasoning through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, Social Studies, and Civics.

You may search for school district/charter school contact information by utilizing the Arizona School Report Cards. Please be advised that most high schools are unable to accommodate requests for duplicate diplomas. However, we suggest that you contact the school directly as records retention policies may vary.
