To be an Election Board Worker in Coconino County, you must be a registered voter, attend the required training and meetings, and serve voters at polling locations impartially, safely, and efficiently. Elections Board Workers may earn up to $275 depending on the role they serve on Election Day.

A poll worker will be paid post-election pay when: a. They are requested/designated to report to the Collection Center with essential election materials (typically Clerk/Asst. Clerk); or b. They are requested/designated to remain at the polling location until all election results are transmitted.

Election observers are appointed by political parties, groups of candidates, or issue committees to observe the conduct of the election. That role is important and can help ensure accountability, but it also requires observers to refrain from interfering in the voting process.

WHAT IS A POLL WATCHER? A person may be asked by a candidate, political party or political committee to go to a polling place or early voting site to observe. Florida law defines this person as a Poll Watcher. The Poll Watcher observes the polling place to determine if any violations of the election laws occur.

Greets voters and verifies voter identification and signature. Processes voters at check-in through an electronic poll book. Ensures that each voter signs the signature pad and is issued a voting pass.

Poll watchers are authorized representatives of a party or candidate allowed inside the polling place on Election Day. Typically, poll watchers are provided with a list of party or candidate supporters, and they listen for names of voters as they appear to vote.

You must be a registered or pre-registered voter in Pinellas County. All poll workers must be able to read and write English. You must attend the required poll worker training class or classes (based on poll worker position).
