The refuge is open for the hunting of deer, turkey, waterfowl, rabbit, squirrel, and other game. Hunting can be excellent, especially for waterfowl, which winter here in the hundreds of thousands. Waterfowl hunting is permitted throughout the state waterfowl season daily until noon.
